Al Clogston, wedding pianist and jazz piano tutor

Composer and arranger

If you need the services of a songwriter, composer or arranger I may be able to help. I've written a multitude of songs in different styles for all ages, and instrumental works, mostly for jazz combos and acoustic folk ensembles. I've also written and composed several theatrical reviews (please see my theatre pages) as well as a complete musical for children, Booga-Booga!. You can buy the Booga-Booga! soundatrack on CD Baby.

Apart for my piano studies, my education includes a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music / University of Hartford (applied instrument: voice), and arranging studies with Ray Cassarino, Marc Allan and the legendary Frank Hunter. As an arranger I have mainly focused on four-part writing for voices, including both acapella and accompanied arrangements. If needed I can also record demo CDs in my new loft studio.

Director and arranger Clogston has blended the group’s voices the way Rembrandt blended paints, and their harmonies are pure pleasure. His arrangements for songs like Sophisticated Lady and Trucking are terrific.
